It was a regular Thursday night on November 5th, 2020, when Taylor decided to blow off some steam at the Ipswich driving range. She had no idea she was about to make quite an impression. Walking in with her clubs, Taylor startled the young man behind the counter. Trying to play it cool, she said, “I have that effect on people on Thursdays.” The young man, Dylan, was left standing there, trying to process the confident and slightly awkward girl, who had just walked in, armed with one-liners. Love at first fright? More like love at first sight. Taylor’s golf game that night was questionable, but fate had other plans. They didn’t swap details, but luckily Covid sign-in books came to the rescue. Later that night, Dylan tracked Taylor down on Instagram (yes, a little creepy). He asked if she was coming back to the range the next day and mentioned he’d be working. Taylor made him sweat for a couple of days before finally saying yes to “hang out” on Monday, November 9th. Mini putt putt, followed by a spontaneous stop at KFC — somewhere between the chips and popcorn chicken, Dylan knew he’d found his dream girl. Fast forward five years, and here they are: a home, a beautiful dog, and two people chasing their dreams side by side… now about to tie the ‘Knox.’ From love at first fright to a forever adventure, Taylor and Dylan’s story proves that the best things often happen when you least expect them.
